Hendy - July 2023
Here we have an end terrace house that needed the front, side and rear renovated. Our preparation method was to firstly address the loose areas of render, next there were areas that needed small repairs to the concrete, and finally, we applied our specialised Wethertex GRC render (fibre glass render) whilst embedding nylon mesh between each of the two coats. Finally it was finished in our Heavy Duty Coating.

This particular job came as a result of applying Wethertex to the customer's parent’s house a few years ago. They were having a lot of trouble with peeling paintwork, even after having the house newly repainted. As you can see from the photos, the previous coating had not stood the test of time. Towy Valley- October 2022
This two hundred year old cottage has been magnificently rebuilt and restored to it’s original splendour by the owners. It’s of a traditional stone construction and lime plaster as it needs to breathe. Due to this, there were certain areas allowing penetrating damp. Ammanford - June 2022
This month's news sees a large and very weathered detached property in the Ammanford area. There has been a lot of renovations carried out by the new owner. As you can see the garage doors have been taken away and new rooms have been created instead. Similar work was carried out on the rear where patio doors been put in place of a window. The final step was for Wetherprufe to render the property. The customer chose for the property to be finished in one of our pink Wethertex colours.

This particular property's existing coating was painted directly onto the brick. This causes a unique challenge in what can be done to render over an unstable surface. The Wethertex system, designed for problematic surfaces, was able to solve this with its unique GRC Render System, (Fibre Glass Render). South Wales - October 2021
This month's customer had a really unusual damp problem on the side wall of this property. It was down to a very porous brick that just absorbed water into house every time it rained. Cavity wall insulation was a major contributor this problem. They had tried different solutions that had been suggested to them costing a lot of time and money over the years.
Our solution was to use our unique Wethertex G.R.C. render system, including 2 layers of embedding nylon mesh between coats. After this, we applied a light duty Wethertex coating, then finally sprayed our Wethertex heavy duty system in Butter Cream colour to finish. We have 100% confidence that this problem has been resolved. The customer was absolutely overwhelmed with the work which was carried out and delighted in the transformation of their house.

Here we have the rear of a property with a structural crack above the left side of the window. It also has an old crumbling chimney that was no longer in use. We addressed the crack with our stitching process, applied two coats of GRC (fibre glass) render and finished it in Sky Blue with the heavy duty coating that we had previously applied to the front, over 2 years ago. We have not only eliminated the damp issue, structural crack and the unsafe chimney, but we have also transformed the look of this property. The customer is so happy we will be returning to coat the remaining rear elevations.

Our latest project was a property situated in Cwmbran with fantastic views overlooking the valley. The customer wanted our Pliolite Resin Coating applied to the upper rendered sections of each elevation, including the two chimney stacks. Cross Hands - June 2021
Here we have the front of a dormer bungalow in the Cross Hands area. We were only able to take before and after photos of the front elevation although we applied a textured coating to all elevations. This property was finished in 'Moonstone' as the primary colour, and white profiles were added on either corner of the property. I'm sure you will agree, it's a brilliant transformation!

Here we have a 200-year-old seaside cottage in the Aberystwyth area. It was very exposed to the weather and was suffering from penetrating damp due to the solid wall construction. As you can see that there was a considerable amount of blown render that needed addressing due to the amount of damp ingress within the property. This customer chose our white MP44 Heavy Duty fine textured coating.

Here we have a large established detached property in Swansea. As it was of a solid stone construction, there were a number of existing issues including damp and extreme flaking of the paintwork. Over the years the customer tried to rectify this by repainting these areas but was always faced with the same problems resurfacing.

This month, one of the houses we have worked on was a farmhouse with solid stone walls. One of the main reasons they chose our Wethertex system was that they had penetrating damp in a number of places around the house. Cardiff - March 2020
Here we have a 100-year-old, mid-terraced house in the Cardiff area. You can see that the rendering was in very poor condition. Due to damp ingress, this was giving the homeowner major damage to the internal decoration. This was a very challenging project due to no rear entrance. All access equipment and materials had to be taken through the property and over the adjoining house's garden wall.
The homeowner was delighted with the transformation, professionalism, and workmanship.

We are back to a flying start after the Christmas Holidays with yet another fantastic finished property!
Here we have a finished property in the Swansea area. It was a brick building before we started the project. There was constant damp issues on various internal walls due to cavity wall insulation. Moisture was even causing the face of the bricks to blow off in frosty conditions! Our GRC render system was applied and finished off with African Ivory Heavy Duty system. What a transformation!

Here we have a brick property which has cavity wall insulation injection. Cavity wall insulation will only work if there’s no penetrating damp. Unfortunately the brick on the front and side was very porous and causing damp on the inner walls.
We recommended our GRC (glass reinforced concrete) rendering system first and then a Wethertex protective coating to stop any more water ingress. The property was finished in African Ivory with Fired Copper on the tiles.

Summer's News
Porthcawl - Summer 2019
Along with the upgrades to our website we have been busy working on numerous houses including this detached property in Porthcawl. As you can see that there was a lot of loose rendering on the left hand elevation of this property which needed removal and repairing. We then used our unique Wethertex reinforced meshed system over the top. This customer has had this problematic elevation repaired in the past, with no success. He can be reassured that our methods, workmanship and 15 year guarantee will rectify years of ongoing trouble. Another problem seen in the photos of this property was structural cracking that needed a specialised technique called stitching. This project took specialised techniques, knowledge and expertise earned working on hundreds of similar houses.

Neath - April 2019
Here we have a traditional semi detached property in Neath. You can see it was looking very tired and had issues with penetrating damp in several elevations of the property and there was a considerable amount of loose rendering as a result of the water ingress. All these areas had to be addressed through hacking off the rendering and repairing back to the original surface. This property is an excellent example of how we can transform the old to new and with the additional peace of mind that our work is covered by a 15 year guarantee.

Here are two properties that we've renovated in Porthcawl. Over the years, both have experienced similar problems that needed constant remedial work - i.e. paint peeling, cracking, blown rendering and water penetration into the property. The left-hand property was the first to be completed, in 'African Ivory'. The neighbour was so impressed by the preparation work, workmanship, our attention to detail and the quality of the finished product, they also requested a free no obligation quotation. Their property was finished in 'Sky Blue'. Both customers were absolutely delighted and would highly recommend us.

Here we have a traditional old style stone farmhouse in the Brecon area. You can see that the customer was in a desperate need to rectify this problematic wall once and for all. Using a Wethertex Maintenance Free coating, we were able to keep its original features. On our latest project we have repaired and coated all four elevations of a detached property in the Swansea Valley. This property has been finished in Butter Cream and as you can see it really compliments the brown windows, fascias and red brick. The bottom half of the brickwork has been washed and cleaned to bring it back to its original colour.

Our latest completed property took us to Barry. The project was a mixture of engineering brickwork and a total render hack off on one of the elevations. The white house next door to the property is a previous customer who recommended Wetherprufe for the job. As you can see both of the properties look fantastic!
End of Summer Updates

We recently completed work on the rear of this semi-detached house in Swansea. As you can see there was extensive cracking to the original rendering. That was addressed with structural resin to eliminate any further problems. This is one of the many processes and checks we do before applying our Wethertex Coating. Due to our thoroughness, our coats last far longer than conventional paints.

We had to do a considerable amount of remedial work to the property such as cutting out rotten timber sections, panels and replacing with new.
